Who we are?
Herbanext Laboratories, Inc. is the country’s leader in spray-dried medicinal plant extracts derived from Philippine biodiversity. Founded in 2001 by multi awarded agri-entrepreneur and TOYM Awardee Philip S. Cruz, Herbanext began as a small enterprise focused on the cultivation and processing of the medicinal mushroom Ganoderma lucidum. Herbanext underwent a major transformation in 2006, greatly expanding its portfolio of medicinal plants and health products together with its distribution partner Daily Apple Distribution, Inc. With assistance from the Philippine Department of Science and Technology, the company expanded and modernized its manufacturing plant in 2011 putting up the country’s first purpose-built extraction and spray-drying facility. Since then, our company has been paving the way to an industry shift from the traditional use of powdered herbs to the use of more potent herbal extracts.
A Unique and Novel Portfolio of Philippine Herbal Ingredients
Our company currently offers the widest portfolio of high quality, locally produced herbal ingredients in the country. These ingredients come in the form of extracts, powdered herbs, teas, oils and are suitable for use in functional food, beverages, nutraceuticals, herbal drugs, cosmetics, and animal health products. Herbanext is also the first company in the Philippines to introduce the use of standardization in extracts for important phytochemical marker compounds.

We are stewards to over 18 hectares of organic farms in Bago City, Negros Occidental, producing over 20 different species of medicinal herbs which are certified to be chemical-free by the Organic Certification Council of the Philippines. Supplying traceable planting materials to marginalized farming communities for our contract farming operations helps sustain livelihood for small farmers in Negros.
