Herbanext is highly committed to advancing the knowledge and development of Philippine medicinal plants.
As part of our scientific advocacy, we maintain an in-situ private collection of medicinal and aromatic plants with over 200 species – one of the largest in the country.
In 2013, we became the first private company to join “Tuklas Lunas”, an academe-led research consortium funded by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCHRD)
Tuklas Lunas has screened over 1,000 species of Philippine medicinal plants for their safety, efficacy, and potential applications in drug development.
With this, the Applied Research and Innovation Laboratory for Natural Products (ARIL) was launched as a dedicated research facility for the scale-up production of pharmaceutical-grade medicinal plant extracts — a first in the Philippines.
