Centella asiatica (Centella) consists of bioactive terpene acids identified as asiatic acid and madecassic acid with their respective glycosides, asiaticoside and madecassoside. Gotu kola is known for its adaptogenic and cognitive enhancing activity. In Ayurvedic practive, it is known to be a blood purifier. It is used to help improve memory and mental function, prevent cognitive decline, enhance blood circulation, promote wound healing or skin regeneration, and relieve stress.
