Since 2009, Herbanext has been accepting student interns in its manufacturing plant and farm, both located in Bago City, Negros Occidental. Depending on the arrangement with the partner institutions, students can be taken in for an unstructured internship, or may be given a formal training course with appropriate training fees. Internship period is typically 4-6 weeks. In the last 3 years To date, the company has accepted a total of around 250 600 interns, coming mainly from University of the Philippines in the Visayas (Miag-ao), University of San Agustin (Iloilo), Colegio de San Agustin (Bacolod), University of St. LaSalle (Bacolod), Marawi State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, and Philippine Science High School – Western Visayas Campus. Students accepted are in the fields of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Biology, and Agriculture.

April to June are the busiest internship months for Herbanext and slots are difficult to come by during this period due to existing commitments with partners from the academe. Other months are however mostly open for applicants. Applicants must have a GWA of 85% for the past 2 semesters and must have a clean record in school. Students must also not be affiliated with companies that are in the same line of business as Herbanext. The company reserves the right to reject students that do not satisfy these requirements. Herbanext does not provide allowance to interns nor provide free accommodation facilities. Assistance will be however provided in looking for a safe and affordable dormitory/pension house.
